Testing

Every core of every fibre is tested; Gem Cable's minimum test standard is the use of a light meter and power source to verify the installed fibre's optical losses are within tolerance. More extensive testing is carried out using an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), which provides a trace of the entire length of the fibre being tested.
