Termination

When terminating fibres, each core is fusion spliced to a pre-terminated pigtail, ensuring the highest possible quality and minimal optical loss. We can present fibre on 1U 19" patch panels in a variety of connector types, typically LC, SC or FC, but other connector types are available on request.

For fibres of up to 4 cores (tight buffered fibre only), we can provide a rugged 'hydra' termination, which eliminates the requirement for a patch panel when space is at a premium, or where the fibre terminates in a location other than a 19" rack.

We provide a termination only service for many of our customers, who prefer to use their own staff to install the fibre cabling alongside other cables. Gem Cable then supply the necessary enclosures, pigtails and adapters to terminate the fibre to the customer's requirements.
